We are most likely not alone in the cosmos but that is yet to be proven publically. The thought that we aren't alone is an ancient one. It is believed by many that with a trillion planets out in space, it is crazy to think that we are the only life in the cosmos. One has to wonder how it would affect us if we discovered for sure that we were not alone.

Would it debunk religion? Would it scare us or excite us? Should be worried about being overtaken? Sometimes these things are such scary subjects, everyday people choose not to really think about the possibilities except through science fiction books and movies. Doubtfully are we alone though.
