Australia has a very low crime rate, at least when compared to other countries of the world. Their crime rate has been on the decline in the past few years. That does not mean Australia is totally safe, the crime rate in the cities is higher than the one in the suburbs. The low crime rate in Australia can be attributed to many things. The first thing is, Australia is considered to be one of the wealthy countries in the world, meaning the poverty rate in the country is at the lowest level.

Poverty can be said to the root of all evils or crimes, as this is not the case with Australia, it simply means a country with a higher poverty rate will most likely experience high crime rate. The homicide rate, sexual assaults, robbery incidents, and some other related crimes have dropped significantly in the past few years.
