Claustrophobia is an anxiety disorder which usually results to an extreme or intense fear of enclosed spaces or fear of being put into a small place. This condition is dangerous if not acted upon very early. Claustrophobia was first diagnosed in the 1870s when a French man was carrying out researches on two people who complained of being nervous and filled with anxiety when they were in their room with their doors closed.

This happened at a time Paris was rapidly growing in terms of population, since this time, there have been many reported cases of claustrophobia. This findings suggested claustrophobia can be caused by a rapid increase in the population of a place. Today people who are claustrophobic have been receiving help to that will help them manage their fear and finally overcome it.
