Is there any dark side of living in Chicago?

Alcohol abuse commonly is associated with the dark side of living. Firms will deliver alcohol outside of the legal hours for selling it. There are drug pushers, and those addicted, like anywhere else, will do anything to get their next fix. Slums have been a problem for a century and last year gunshot deaths exceeded 1000 for the year.

This occasioned comment from President Trump who did pledge to find a solution. It does suggest that the police cannot cope with the extent of criminality. Perhaps the Chicagoans are so weighed down by all the fatty foods they eat, they have no energy to put things to rights.
