American Idol is a popular realty singing show that grew in popularity. It was first directed by Andy Scheer and then Bruce Gowers, Ken Warwick, Bill DeRonde, Gregg Gelfand, Louis J. Horvitz and Phil Heyes continued to direct the show. This show was created by Simon Fuller. He had created another similar show called Pop Idol. The first season of American Idol aired in 2002 during the summer. It first aired on Fox and then was picked up by another station.
