The People's Republic of China certainly has a long history and a rich heritage. Their history is splited into two parts as the "Mao era" and the "post Mao era." From that time China, was known as the People's Republic of China until 1978, it is commonly called the Mar era.

The Mao era was strongly bent toward ideological solutions that were focused on a single ideology. Critics point to those times as a period of severe social chaos due to Mao's constant fear of losing power. His focus was primarily on maintaining power rather than on the improvement of the nation or the situation of the people. Thus, they were somewhat isolated from the rest of the countries. They did not experience the amount of exposure or connection they now have.
