How did David Beckham afford to buy a team?

Due to the multi-faceted approach of David Beckham, his wealth was able to move him forward in purchasing a football team. He was quite prudent in handling his finances and was able to amass sufficient wealth for this generous purchase. Most of all, he was a highly paid sportsman due to his popularity and value to the teams he played for.

He has had this desire for a long time that he would one day own his own football team. In the United States, the MLS began over 25 years ago as a league for football, that in the US they call Soccer. Because of the immense popularity of American Football, Basketball, and Baseball, football (Soccer) just hasn't been able to take hold. Many are doubtful if Beckham's purchase was a good decision and that he might be in for a huge loss. But there are also plenty of supporters that feel that his popularity and ability to inspire others may be a key factor for its future success.
