David beckham was not just a good footballer, he was a great football player. But the fact remains that he is a very difficult person to asses regarding his ability to play football. Although he had talent, he was a hard working and focused individual. This focus has somewhat turned him from just an individual player to a personal brand.

He was never a one man show, but always a team player. He had the uncanny ability to make his team better than they could ever be. He inspired them and helped them to see things differently. Although he was never best at tackling opponents one on one, he was good at passing at just the right time. He knew when to pass and he knew who to pass to. This ability made him a team player and it didn't matter if he got to shine, it was the entire team that benefitted.
