Gir has its origin in Gir forest in Kathiawar district of Gujarat. They can produce up to 2000kg milk per lactation. The average weight of this breed is about 400kg. It can cost between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh. Sahiwal has it origin from Pakistan; it can produce up to 2500kg of milk per lactation. It cost between Rs. 35,000 to Rs 60,000. The Kankrej can cost up to Rs 45,000 and the Jersey can cost between Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000.
