Do doctors really make the worst patients?

YES! Doctors are some of the worst patients ever. This is because of their medical knowledge, they want to be informed of everything along the way, and they usually have an opinion of how they want to be treated. When it comes to medicine and being stuck in a hospital, doctors want to micromanage every part of their stay. Often times, nurses will complain that the doctor who is a patient is monopolizing their time, asking questions about what the doctor who is treating them is doing, and inquiring about other patients as well - often rendering some sort of medical opinion that the nurse should pass on to the attending physician.

While not all doctors make terrible patients, the majority do. They cannot stand to be down and feeling useless, so they continue to try and practice medicine from their bed, diagnosing their own care, and wanting to argue with the on-call physician about how best they should or could be treated.
