Time management is a struggle for everyone. But doctors seem to have the worst time getting anywhere on time. However, there are a few good reasons for this. Depending on the speciality of the doctor, they can sometimes be called away for an emergency, which means those that are sitting in the waiting room can have a longer than normal wait time.

However, many doctors offices tend to over-book. This means that two patients can be scheduled for the same time slot, or there are walk-in patients that need to be seen before a patient who had a scheduled appointment, depending on the severity of the case.

When it comes to managing time, and keeping a working practice, it is a good idea to have doctors and their nurses to not overbook and overwhelm the doctor. They are people as well, and still need to time to eat, use the restroom, and have a few moments in between each patient to document their findings. By spacing out patients, and allowing proper time to meet and go over the medical issue, then time will not be such a unmanageable task. Many doctors are finding that by staying open a little later in the evenings, they are able to put more time during the day between patients, allowing for less of a wait time, and more time with each patient to ensure that their concerns are being properly addressed.
