Trying to narrow down the works of such a wordsmith can be rather difficult. However, there are always a few that shine just a little brighter than others. Charles Dickens, while a much beloved writer, has a few that have cultivated quite a following. The top five Dickens books of all time are: Great Expectations - there has been a lot of speculation about this book, and the rumor that Dickens may have fathered a child with his mistress. If rumors are to be believed, then he would have had 11 children. However, the story of Pip and the oddities of Miss Havisham have led this to be the most beloved of all of Dickens works.

Trying to narrow down the works of such a wordsmith can be rather difficult. However, there are
Oliver Twist - This classic deals with a crime ring, children, and the many injustices suffered by those who could not fully defend themselves. Many children ended up on the streets due to poverty, and the social issues that Dickens wrote about in this novel helped raise awareness to some of them. David Copperfield - This book is said to have been Charles Dickens favorite novel. This book was written in a different perspective than many of his other works. There were many noted authors who have listed this among their favorites, such as Virginia Woolf, and Tolstoy. Bleak House - Where would we be without one novel that pokes some fun at the justice system? Bleak House was another that is told partly in first person. This novel takes on some of the injustices suffered, and the long drawn out processes.

Trying to narrow down the works of such a wordsmith can be rather difficult. However, there are
The Pickwick Papers - This actually was not intended to become a novel! It started as a number of sketches, that eventually worked themselves into a full blown book. This book also had a touch of the justice system, however, it is more lighthearted than Bleak House. While each of his books have their own merits, these top five reads have received the most rave reviews, sparked debates, and led to an almost cult-like following. If you have not yet indulged into the reading of Charles Dickens, then these books are the perfect ones to start with!
