Originally, reference materials should stay in the library which means that they cannot be checked out.It should be noted, however, that there are some areas wherein this is allowed.

There are also times when the books are not meant to be checked out but if you would ask for permission, the librarian can make an exception. It is important that you know if the reference books in your area can be checked out. If not, you may have to photocopy the pages of the book or the newsletter so that you can study it further when you are already at home.
