The top rules of playing chess include the movements of the pieces. They must be moved in the correct direction. Therefore, the person isn’t playing chess correctly. For instance, the pawn can only move one space. However, on the first move one pawn can move two spaces. The knight moves in an “L” shape which is over one space and up or down two spaces.
The bishop can move as many spaces as it wants but it must move diagonally. The queen can move as many spaces as she wants, but it must be straight ahead, behind or to the side and even diagonally. The king can move only one space in in any direction. The rook or castle can move as many spaces as it wants but it must be straight ahead, back or to the side.
