Everyone knows that there are pyramids in Egypt. It is what Egypt is known for. However, adults usually have to think back about what these pyramids were used for. They were tombs that the Egyptians put the dead bodies in. However, they were not for anybody. Instead, only the leaders and royalty were entombed in the pyramids.

However, if you put a dead body in a tomb, it would begin to smell really bad. There would also be disease. That is why Egyptians began to wrap paper around the dead bodies to stop the disease and smell from spreading.

It helped to preserve the bodies. They later became known as mummies. Whenever the historians would inspect the pyramids, they would see these mummies.
