There are hockey teams for women at all levels. In the United States, women can play as a part of the NCAA (college teams) and on the US national team. The United States is not the only country that has a platform for women to play because Korea and Canada also have teams, a national team and a national league, respectively. Yes, there is a hockey team for women. In fact, many countries like the United States, India, China and Canada, have national teams and professional leagues for female hockey games. The women’s hockey tournament was approved as an Olympic event in July 1992 and it was first held at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan and since then, the female hockey has grown exponentially.

The women hockey team is similar to the arrangement seen in the men’s hockey teams. There are 11 players on a team of hockey players. It is made up of a goal keeper, defenders, midfielders and forwards as it is in the men’s tournaments.
