Many music critics consider Beethoven's music to be chaotic, and they loud about it. Beethoven actually did learn under Haydn, and he really gained some essential lessons from him. But along the line, it was discovered that Beethoven stopped learning from Haydn, he went on his own to start his career, something like that. In his career process, Beethoven was seen to be de deviating from the usual way of composing music. His composition of music was against many rules that were set down then.

His musical compositions were considered choppy and with imbalanced measures. Over time, his musical compositions which were actually of an abrupt nature continued to gain more critics. Unlike this present moment when reviews would have scrolled down on the website, the music critics were not really that exposed then. Critics about his music became more rampant over the past fifty years. This is also based on an individual's likes, choices, and interests.

When Beethoven was composing, musical critics were in their infancy, and so there were not the scathing reviews that we might see today.
