The country with the highest global carbon footprint is China. As the record was taken in 2005, China released 904.07 million tons of carbon dioxide. The second highest country that releases carbon footprint is the United States, with about 500 million tons of carbon dioxide. The third country after the United States is India, with about 207 million tons of carbon dioxide emission in a year. In general, the developed countries are the ones that have contributed most to the release of carbon footprint in the world.

And as a matter of fact, the world looks up to these developed countries to control the emission of carbon element into our atmosphere. The cause of this huge emission of carbon by the developed countries is simply because of the rate of industrial activities in the countries. The rate of transportation and packaged materials being used for their products. That is what really makes them be developed than other countries.

There is a push to find more environmentally friendly products, however, no matter how hard we try, there is always going to be a carbon footprint. That does not mean that we should not try to reduce these numbers, but they are not going to fall quickly, if at all.
