You may be surprised to learn this but 32 countries list one of their official languages as being French. Beyond this, French is taught in over 80 countries around the world. Besides the English language, French is the only other language which is spoken on every continent.
So learning French will not only help you communicate with several more people than you would have been able to otherwise, but it can also help you during travels to foreign countries. We live in such a diverse world with many different languages, so being able to speak more than just your native language is more important now than ever.
