Vegetables are known to be very good for the body because they contail vital vitamins and minerals that the body needs.

Certain vegetables are known to contain high level of oxalate. High level of oxalate combine with calicum in the urinary system of the body to form calcium oxalate stone. Calcium oxalate stones are the most common type of kidney stone. In fact, over 80% of kidney stones diagnosed are calicum oxalate stones.

Vegetables that contain high levels of oxalate include:
rhubarb, okra, leeks, spinach, beets and Swiss chard.

If an individual has high sensitivity to kidney stones, these vegetables should be avoided or consumed in a little quantity.
