Capacitance is the ratio of the alteration in an electric charge in a system to the corresponding change in its electric potential. Capacitance is the role only of the geometry of the design. Capacitance is the ability to store electrical energy and therefore have capacitance.

Capacitance is when the capability of a system of electrical conductors and insulators to stockpile an electric charge when a possible difference exists between the conductors. Capacitance is decided by the size and shape of a conductor and by the electrical properties of the surrounding medium. It is a passive two-terminal electronic component that stores electrical energy in an electric field.
