Yes. The liver is the largest internal organ in the human body. (We don't have many external ones!) The liver has many many different functions but most particularly is concerned with digesting food What flows through our bodies in the bloodstream as nutrition to be absorbed comes into the liver where toxins to be excreted are passed out to the duodenum.

It weighs only a little less than 2 kg in men, 1.3 kg in women. It holds about a pint of your blood supply at all stages of its functioning. The liver is made of hepatocytes. These are what absorb the nutrients and rid the blood of harmful toxins.
