Do supernovas form nebulas?

The two are entirely different because a planetary nebula is created when a low mass star dies. The supernova is the death of a massive star. The low mass star's outer envelope is ejected out while the star's core becomes a white dwarf. The ejected envelope then expands away from the central star and forms the nebula.

Once part of the star in the center, the ring of material has been ejected. Nuclear fusion in a high mass star's core produces elements all the way to iron. Once the iron's mass exceeds a certain approach, it collapses causing shock waves to propagate outwards. The conclusion is the titanic explosion called the supernova, which leaves behind a neutron star or a black hole in its' wake.

The exploded remains of the star form a supernova remnant. Specific examples include the Crab Nebula (M1 in Taurus) and the Veil nebula in Cygnus.

There are a lot of scientists who believe that the supernova has made it possible for the solar system to be formed. The supernova may seem similar to a nebula but they have some differences. The nebula is the death of a small star while the supernova is known to be the death of a massive star.

It seems that the supernova may sometimes develop a nebula because there is still a small portion of the star that can still live. Instead of continuing to be a massive star like the supernova, it becomes a nebula. Still, the nebula is usually the end stage of stars before they die.
