Messenger is an app on Facebook that people can use on their computer, tablet or cell phone depending on how and when they want to use it. However, they must have Facebook downloaded on that electronic device in order to use it. On Facebook, there are friends that you have searched for or they have searched for you. With all of your friends, you can message them and they can message you through the Facebook messenger.
Before 2011, Facebook users could use the Facebook chat to message their friends. Now, their chatting system is updated and users of Facebook can message only their friends when they want to say something directly to them and not to all of their friends.
