The correct answer is GLUCOSE AND STARCH. The carbohydrates that are present in both plants and animals are known as starch and glucose. Glucose is the simplest form of carbohydrates. It is a simple monosaccharide (sugar) with a molecular formula of C6H12O6. Glucose is the principal source of energy for cellular metabolism. This means that for cells to carry out their functions, they need glucose.

Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose during digestion and glucose is further degraded to yield ATP (source of energy) through the process of glycolysis and Citric Acid cycle. Starch, on the other hand, is carbohydrates found mostly in plants. It is not a simple monosaccharide like glucose. When consumed, it is broken down into simple sugar to produce energy for cellular activities. Carbohydrates are stored as glycogen in animals and stored as starch in plants.

The carbohydrates that are present in plants and animals are glucose and starch. Glucose is a type of sugar that is carried by the bloodstream in order to reach various parts of the body. The main purpose of glucose is to ensure that the blood sugar levels will be kept within a safe range.

As long as the glucose levels are safe, there will be lesser risks of acquiring different health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. Starch is also another carbohydrate that is needed to store energy. There will be times when the body will need enough energy to do its tasks properly. The body will get its energy reserve that has been made possible because of starch.

The correct answers to this question are glucose and starch. The primary function of glucose is to create energy. It is stored in the body as glycogen. This energy is necessary for the cells to carry out their biological and metabolic functions. They also help the cells and blood flow during exercise.

Another essential function of glucose is to keep blood sugar levels steady and consistent. For glucose to perform this function, starch is necessary. Carbohydrate is stored as glycogen. When digestion occurs, starch is then converted into glucose. From there, glucose can carry out its essential functions.
