Ezekiel envisioned god as a vision he had when he was held captive by the king. He explained that he saw 4 creatures with four faces and two wings each. They had a human face, a lion face an ox face and an eagles face. They were aligned such that their wings touched one another. Below the wings they had human hands and their feet were those of calves. On their head sat crowns.

There was light emitting from them as though they were bade of burning coal. When he saw this site, he bowed down. This is when he heard the voice of god speaking to him. He related this vision of god to the men around him.
