Jack's death was foreshadowed for a long time on the This is Us programme and left viewers wondering how it happened for ages. When in Series Two this was shown, that Jack died of cardiac arrest after inhaling smoke during a Super Bowl Sunday house fire, perhaps people felt it wasn't worthy of him, I don't know.
However, it was quite a moving episode and obviously something Rebecca would take a lot of time getting over.
