The eye is a very sensitive part of the body. It can be more vulnerable than the other senses and would need to be taken care of more. It is common that people will sometimes get soap, shampoo, and other chemicals in their eyes.
If in case this occurs, they need to flush out the chemicals with water. If the irritation persists, seeing a doctor is necessary. There are still other causes of eye injury though such as getting your eye scratched by your own nails or another object.
Even rubbing your own eyes can cause corneal abrasion so you should avoid doing this. Eye swelling is also another possible cause of eye injury. Getting hit by a hard object in the eye such as a fist or other hard objects can definitely cause eye injury.
