There are a lot of people who are confused about Captain Marvel as this character is sometimes depicted as a boy and sometimes, as a girl. No matter what the gender of this character is, it is possible that the plot will show that there is an issue that needs to be resolved soon and only Captain Marvel will have the answer or the solution to that current issue. This is the recurring theme in a lot of superhero stories.
The main differences would lie on the gender, the circumstances, the age, and even the superpowers of the various superheroes available. Captain Marvel is known to have an extraordinary strength which can be an advantage.
