Never mind about me, worry about you. If you discovered that your best same-sex friend had had a one-night stand with a other-sex friend and had no intent to take it further, would you mind? Would you worry about the effect on either friend? If not, then you're regarding them as independent and not needy, and perhaps that's how you are. If you had a one-night stand and later found out that the other person was devastated, because they'd expected it was only the start of a longer relationship, you'd feel bad. Yes?
So it all depends on what expectations each person has before engaging in sex. if you're both so drunk that you can't discuss anything, then nothing that goes on will mean anything anyway...until the morning after when you may feel debased and worthless, or upset that the other person has got dressed and disappeared. Bang, it's over. Was it worth it?
