Orchestra is an Italian word that refers to a large group of instrumentalists playing different musical instruments together led by a conductor who directs the performance with the movement of his hands. A large orchestra is also referred to as symphony orchestra.
In Greek, "orkheisthai" which is orchestra in English means "to dance". It refers to a semicircular space where chorus is sang or danced.
Orchestra also means the main floor of a theater or cinema.
