Australian Sam Growth recorded the fastest unofficial serve ever at 263.4km/hr (163.7mph) in ATP challenger event in Busan, South Korea in May 2012 but the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) does not recognize serve speed made in challenger tournaments.
It is believed that challenger events lack uniformity in their tournaments. Sam Growth serve was measure with approved instruments. John Isner holds the official ATP title for the fastest serve at 253km/hr (157.2mph).
