Sania Miraz was overrated in the early days of her career because she was seen as a sport star in her home country, India, she is one of the few people from Asia to be successful in tennis on the world stage. She is the second female from Asia to be ranked top 30 in tennis after Ai Sugiyama from Japan. Sania made tennis in India popular. She has won only one WTA.
In recent times, I don't think Sania is overrated in any way, she has had unsuccessful career in singles since she sustained a wrist injury,she was forced to give up her single career. Even in doubles, Sania did not record much success before she paired with Martina Hingis. Not much people follow her career like before. She is currently not overrated.
