Who is Harvey Weinstein and what did he do?

Harvey Weinstein used to be the head of Miramax films, a major movie studio in Hollywood, California. In late 2017, an article appeared in the New York Times detailing sexual abuse and assault claims from several women against Weinstein.

Since the initial appearance of the story many more women have felt empowered to talk about the abuse and assault they too suffered from Weinstein. In fact, the experiences of so many women developed into an anti-sexual harassment movement called “me too”. In May of 2018, Weinstein surrendered to police in NY where he is being charged with rape and other sexual abuse against two women.
