Tithing has been introduced and practiced since the Old Testament. God instructed the Israelites to give tenths of their harvest to provide for the priests and Levites. In the New Testament, Jesus also teaches and explains the importance of tithing. Tithing or giving the tenths of one’s income to the church is a way of worshiping God. It is a reminder to Christians that everything they are earning is from the grace of God.

Tithing is just giving back the honor to God and trusting Him that He will provide you with all of your needs. Giving the tenths of your income should not feel a responsibility as God loves a cheerful giver.
