Is Barb's unnecessarily gruesome death responsible for spoiling the first season?

There are some people who feel that the first season of Stranger Things has been ruined by Barb’s death but there are also some who cannot care less about the character’s death. There are some who are affected by it because they loved Barb’s character.

There are some who are not too affected because they care about the other characters of the show to focus too much on just one person. If you think about it Barb’s death has a purpose. It will be easy to forget that the Upside Down is real but Barb has proved through her death that it is no laughing matter.
