The main goal of mitosis is to make sure that it produces identical cells of the original cells. This means if a diploid cell is to undergo mitosis, the end result should be two daughter cells that are also diploid. If in case it is the haploid cell that is about to undergo mitosis, the end result should be two daughter cells that are also haploid by nature.

The answer can be a diploid or a haploid which means that it can be A or B. A gamete is a cell that can be united to another cell of the opposite sex in order to become a zygote. The sperm is also known as the male reproductive cell.
