The dynamic host configuration protocol is used to perform important functions that include configuring the IP address parameters from the DHCP to a post as well as assigning and renewing the IP address from the default pool. It is basically a client protocol that provides the IP host with its own IP address and important configuration information.
These can include the subnet mask as well as the default gateway. It is a network management protocol. That assigns IP addresses to different devices nodes or networks. It is used by computer networking services to automatically assign IP addresses to different devices.
