Everyone knows that we need calcium for our bodies. It makes our body healthy and strong. When we are little, our parents used to tell us to drink all of our milk to make our bones strong. It would also help us grow. There is a lot more to calcium then what we know about it is in milk.

Calcium has a gray or silver color to it, which may sound strange since it is in milk, and milk is white. However, there is more about the science of calcium. Its atomic number is 20, and it is found in period 4. Its electron configuration is 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2. It has 2, 8, 8, 2 electrons per shell.
