Velocity is defined as the speed of something. In science, it refers to the rate of change of pace of something when they change positions in one direction. If you are trying to find the velocity at a race, you will need to know a few things to plug the numbers into the formula that has been established.

Velocity is equal to the speed over time. Therefore, you must know the speed of the vehicle and the time. So, if we plug in the numbers, it should be velocity is equal to 10 miles per second divided by the time which is 25 seconds. Thus, the velocity is 0.4 when you divide the speed by the time, which is 10/25.
