One can certainly bet that the Commonwealth Games feature Olympians and ones who have competed in the Olympic Games. These athletes are certainly the featured attractions when the Commonwealth Games commence. The 2018 edition held in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia featured several Olympians who have done well in the Games. Elaine Thompson from Jamaica is one example as she is the defending gold medalist in the women's 100m and 200m from the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Australia is known for its Olympic swimmers and the 2018 Games is no different as far as featuring well known Olympians. Sally Pearson and Cate Campbell are two swimmers that had huge success at the last Olympics. Jamaica is known for their successful Olympic sprinters and the same can be said at the latest games and ones way before that. The athletes who compete in the Commonwealth Games are the same ones who compete for spots and eventually make the final Olympic rosters.
