For the past decades, there have been more and more organizations that have been helping endangered animals. They provide research and money from donors to keep these animals safe by providing sanctuaries. However, it is expensive to house these animals in sanctuaries. Some of these organizations that are devoted to preserving endangered animals include the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

Mainly they have stopped poachers from killing elephants for their tusks. Another organization is the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and they help the wildlife in the sea. The Defenders of Wildlife was actually created over fifty years ago. Their main goal is to help those animals whose habitats are being destroyed. A more recent organization is the Save the Manatee Club which obviously helps save the manatees.

There are a number of organizations working to conserve wildlife, probably more than you've ever realized! Here are a few lesser-known efforts to help keep species from extinction. The Wildlife Conservation Society is a worldwide organization focusing on climate change, human-wildlife coexistence, and sustainability. The Wildlife Alliance works toward ending illegal wildlife trade by helping poverty-stricken communities.

Finally, the International Fund for Animal Welfare works towards saving seals, whales, elephants and tigers, providing hands-on aid to animals and teaching people about extinction. There are plenty of other organizations out there that work toward conserving wildlife, rebuilding populations, and growing habitats that ensure the survival of many species. No matter their focus, each serves an important purpose.
