What spices do I add to flavor garlic bread?

For the most part, garlic bread is fixed in the same way, but there can be a few differences in regards to the ingredients. The bread is usually a French baguette that is cut into pieces. However, other white breads can be used. Italian bread is also often used. After slicing each piece, brush melted butter onto the tops of each piece. Then sprinkle garlic powder onto it.

A couple of other spices may be added to the tops of them including oregano or chives. Then sometimes, people will add mozzarella or another cheese before placing it into the oven or toaster. Take a few minutes to let the garlic bread toast, but don’t let it burn. Take it out of the oven and eat it.

There's a chance that plain garlic bread (garlic, butter, and cheese) doesn't have enough flavor for you—or maybe you're tired of traditional fare. Regardless, if you'd like to add a little life to an old favorite, consider making your own seasoning. You'll need 2 teaspoons each of fresh-cracked black pepper, basil, oregano, marjoram, kosher salt, and parsley. Of course, you'll also want to use powdered garlic and parmesan cheese for this, too.

Once you have your ingredients, mix them well and sprinkle over breadsticks or French bread. If you like a spicy kick, add some red pepper flakes to taste. If you're keeping your seasoning in a container, use dried herbs instead of fresh (they're also cheaper!)
