Pseudoscience is theories, statements, and beliefs that are thought to be scientific. However, they are no scientific facts to back them up. These theories, statements, and beliefs are based on claims that are exaggerated and can be contradicted.

In the end, pseudoscience can be very dangerous because it can lead certain people to believe they are true. There are many examples of pseudoscience that we are familiar with. One of those is of aliens. There is a belief that aliens were before us and that during their time on Earth, they influenced the way we live today. There is also a belief that aliens are on another planet and visit Earth on UFOs.

There are different types of sciences that are available that can be enough to confuse a lot of people. This time, pseudoscience refers to different beliefs, statements, and even practices that are considered as claims.

According to those who have created them, they are factual and are based on scientific proof. Yet, there is a big chance that if these facts and proof will be used with scientific methods, they cannot be considered truths anymore. There are different topics right now that is considered to be a part of “Pseudoscience.”

These things cannot be fully explained yet but those who believe in them are positive that they would find the right scientific methods to support their claims.

There are so many theories, beliefs, practices that are considered scientific today but which are not supported by any scientific facts because they fail to comply with the standard scientific method. Any knowledge that revolves around these practices and beliefs is known as pseudoscience. These theories and practices may have been proven to be false or incorrect.

Most times, some works or findings are considered a pseudoscience because there is no way they can be tested scientifically. For anything to be regarded as a product of science, it must have been adequately researched and found to be true, using different scientific processes. Whenever the term pseudoscience is used to describe some findings, it means there is a lack of scientific evidence to support such findings.

In fact, a popular branch of science known as astrology is often considered pseudoscience. Many people are arguing that there is no substantial evidence that shows that humans behaviors are usually influenced by the position of the planet Earth relative to other celestial bodies.

From the name itself, you can already guess that there are some things that people thought were actual scientific processes and method that turned out to be false. There are some theories about creation that have already been disapproved over the past years. There are some that are still being studied in order to get a rational explanation.

For example, there are some people who would like to know more about crop circles. There are still some things that are being done in order to prove if the first theory is correct. There are still other theories that are ongoing about the paranormal too such as levitation and psychokinesis.

Your dictionary.com defines pseudoscience as “beliefs, theories, or practices that have been or are considered scientific, but have no basis in scientific fact. This could mean they were disproved scientifically, can’t be tested or lack evidence to support them.” There are many examples of pseudoscience and you can find them in a variety of many different areas.

Here are just a few - some people believe you can tell a person’s personality by their handwriting. Others believe that the position of celestial bodies affect a person (astrology) or that there is a relationship between certain numbers and people or events (numerology).
