American singer-songwriter Maxwell performed the song Pretty Wings, which was written and produced by Maxwell and Hod David. Pretty Wings was released on his fourth studio album BLACKsummers'night, released by Columbia in 2009.
The song was the second single from the album, with the first being This Woman's Work and the third being Bad Habits. Pretty Wings is a song about meeting the right woman at the wrong time, and is often called a bittersweet love song. It reached number one on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The music video for the song was directed by Philip Andelman.
