What is a buffalo solider?

The song Buffalo Soldier is sung by Bob Marley. It is evident from the title and the lyrics of the song that this talks about the black Americans who were part of the cavalry in the Indian Wars. This was back in 1866. The song rehashed the experience a bit and made the war a quest for survival in the part of the soldiers.

Take note that during this time, there were still a lot of places in the United States that did not want to accept Black Americans simply because of the color of their skin. The Native American tribes gave their lives in order to protect others and this is immortalized through the song.
