EDM is a whole new genre of music that makes use of software sampled sounds. It is more like a different genre of music that has recently become quite popular. However, the recently increasing popularity of EDM does not certainly mean that it marks the death of other music genres. Just like rock, pop, and punk, EDM will certainly live along the other genres but to say that it will ever replace the mainstream music totally would be wrong.
This is because everyone tends to have their own choice when it comes to music, and most people come to discover their choices after a long music listening journey.
