Any sports athlete has to make a decision whether they should go to college and play their sport in college or go play professionally after high school. Recruits are found more in colleges, but if a baseball player gets recruited at the end of their high school career, they should realize the pros and cons of that. Injuries can occur at any time and if an athlete gets injured, they may be having to start college late.

It is difficult to start college if you don’t start it right out of high school. The pros of entering the MLB out of high school is that the athlete is getting a head start on his career. It would be helpful though to have a back-up plan.
