Canada has its own government, but it is called a federal constitutional monarchy. It is hard to believe that Canada has a monarchy government, but it is still owned in a sense by England even though it functions on its own. So, it does have a monarchy by the British monarchy.

However, it also has a constitutional government similar to a democracy where the people can make decisions usually through voting or representatives. Even though Canada and the United States are neighboring countries and most of their languages are the same, each country makes their own decisions based on what they deem important for their own country and its citizens. Therefore, Canada doesn’t blindly follow the US, but does things their own way.
