If we are alone in the universe, we should probably be happy and sad. People on Earth should be happy to be the only beings in the universe because then we should feel safe. We would not have to worry about aliens attacking Earth. They would not hurt any people and people would not fear them coming.
Also, if they saw a UFO flying overhead, they would realize that it is a flying object that can’t be identified by them, but is probably associated with the military. People would be sad because then it would show that humans probably can’t live on another planet because it doesn’t sustain life. Then if something happened to Earth where people could not live on the planet, then they couldn’t go to another planet.
